Description: The U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Commerce, Business Oregon, and the Portland Business Alliance would like to invite you to an outreach event to discuss how the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs supports U.S. business.  Participants will have the opportunity to hear firsthand from State Department officials about business visas and ask questions that are of importance in today&#8217;s business world.  The State Department has enhanced the efficiency, predictability, and transparency of the visa process and would like to discuss those improvements with Oregon businesses.</p>
<p><strong>Main Speaker:</strong> Eric S. Cohan, U.S. Department of State<br />
Eric, a Foreign Service Officer, is currently the chief of the Visa Office’s Coordination Division.  He came to that assignment from Bogota, Colombia, where he served as Nonimmigrant Visa Unit Chief. Before that, he was the Immigrant Visa Unit Chief in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.  He also served as post liaison officer for sub-Saharan Africa posts in the Visa Office and as special assistant in the Bureau of Legislative Affairs.  His other overseas assignments were in Santo Domingo and Guayaquil, Ecuador.</p>
