Brown Bag Lunch – Identify Theft Protection

November’s Brown Bag lunch will be presented by Diane Childs from the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services.
Identity Theft Protection Act
Since Oregon’s Identity Theft Protection Act went into effect in 2007, the state has investigated 80 complaints about businesses and government agencies failing to protect client personal information. In several cases, they found that businesses had discarded documents containing clients’ Social Security numbers and other personal information in unlocked dumpsters.
The Department of Consumer and Business Services’s goal is to educate business owners at the law, rather than fine them.
Diane Childs will be discussing Oregon’s Identity Theft Protection Act. She will cover:
- Who is subject to the law
- What should be included in a security plan
- What do I need to do in case of a security breach
- Who to contact at the state with questions

Free Ergonomics in the Office Class!

We will be hosting a 2-hour Brown Bag Lunch on Thursday, May 20th from 11am-1pm
Ergonomics in the Office will be presented by Allen Freauff of Oregon OSHA.
This is a free learning opportunity open to the public
and will be held at our chamber office, 38963 Pioneer Blvd, Sandy, OR.
You will learn about: health considerations; evaluation of the workstation; controls for cumulative trauma; and the basic principles of ergonomics in the office.
