My name is Brian Adams and I’m a fourth generation Oregonian. I grew up in the Hood River Valley just east of Mt. Hood and moved to Sandy back in 2009. I’ve been a career firefighter for the past eight years and feel incredibly thankful to have a job with the reward and gratification of helping others. I also completed my paramedic training during this time and have come to appreciate the lessons learned when one is stretched beyond what they thought possible. Continuing to steward the public trust instilled in our profession is paramount and lies at the core of my values. Simply put, we ought to act as though others are watching, even if they are not.

I wish to give back to our community for the opportunities that this country has afforded me. Despite our political differences, I find that people often have more in common than realized and are united through a nation of continual debate. We not only live in, but are each a part of the greatest country in the world. Humbling ourselves, we see a land where opportunity is as abundant as life and a society as free as there has ever been. Being an American to me is the rejection of self entitlement and the embracing of self responsibility, realizing that things are only as good as we make them. In caring for each other and our community, every individual has the opportunity to contribute to the betterment of society.
