About Sam and Star
Sandy's transit department offers several types of transportation options. The
services are designed to accommodate varying levels of accessibility in an integrated
system. Every effort is made to make the fixed route services accessible and
user friendly beginning with sensitivity training for professional dispatch and
driving staff, to working through other city departments such as planning and
public works to include curb cuts and Braille strips at all intersections along
the fixed route, to the purchase of low-floor vehicles, and transit training
excursions that combine adventure with learning to use the region's transit system.
The fixed route is supported with a demand-response service for door-to-door
trips as needed to get to local services and act as a feeder service to the fixed
route. A higher need of assistance requiring through door-to-door service outside
of the service area is also available.
Accessible Buses
SAM and STAR buses are wheelchair accessible and the drivers are trained to assist
customers if necessary.
Bikes on Buses
SAM and STAR buses are equipped with bike racks. Bus drivers are knowledgeable
about the use of the bike rack. Bikes are subject to space availability.
Lost and Found

30 days. Call 503.668.3466 regarding item.

Children under Eight
